CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PROTECT OUR WINTERS CANADA

Protect Our Winters Canada is looking for an energetic, experienced leader to take on the role of Executive Director. Established in 2018, POW Canada has seen exceptional growth, and having strengthened our
organisational foundations, we can’t wait to meet the next person who will help us realise our objective of helping every outdoor enthusiast to become an effective climate advocate. There’s never been a more critical time to turn your passion into purpose.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As ED, you will lead a passionate and creative team to help achieve POW Canada’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Board, you will have responsibility for developing and implementing the organisational strategy, establishing and managing budgets and forecasts, ensuring strong organisational governance, and supporting our people to excel. It’s a small team, so you can expect to be involved in the day-to-day, including campaign oversight, events,  as well as partner and government relations.

ABOUT YOU

First and foremost, you want to make a difference in the fight against climate change. You love leading teams and helping them to achieve their potential, and you believe culture trumps everything.
A confident leader, you’re just as happy speaking to a room full of athletes or to the media as you are to our most important partners and donors. You have a strong connection to the outdoor community, and you understand that POW is as much a brand as it is a nonprofit, and you are passionate about climate change.

ABOUT POW CANADA

Protect Our Winters Canada is a passionate community of enthusiasts, professional athletes and industry brands uniting the outdoor community to advocate for policy solutions to climate change. We believe our love of adventure in nature demands our participation in the fight to save and protect it.
