Indra Hayre was born and raised on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, sḵwx̱wú7mesh & sel̓íl̓witulh First Nations. She continues to learn, grow, and connect with these lands as a skier, hiker, runner, and all-around weekend warrior. Indra’s passion for getting outside and connecting with the land is parallel with her vocation toward diversity and inclusivity in the outdoors. Driven by the ethos that people can’t exist authentically in spaces where they don’t see themselves, Indra advocates for representation and story-telling of traditionally marginalized populations in all realms of life, particularly in the outdoors. She actively works to bring an intersectional lens to all situations, believing that if everyone can see themselves represented in these spaces, everyone will also have a better understanding of our need to protect them.
