Lucia grew up in the exciting core of Toronto, Ontario in an active and passionate family of athletes, artists and academics. Having started as an Irish dancer and soccer player, Lucia found her love for running at age 12 and joined the University of Toronto Track Club, where the amazing outdoor community cemented her love for the sport.

Lucia collected numerous National Titles and competed on a number of international teams throughout her undergraduate degree at U of T, where she studied Civil Engineering and Sustainability. At 22, she competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in the women’s 1500m and finished 13th. Now, she balances her ambition in her sport as she trains for Paris, with her passion for art, music, hiking, and environmental justice. 

Skiing since before he can remember, Jules has grown up loving every moment he could spend in the snow. Eventually becoming a world cup-level biathlete, he participated in the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing before taking a step back from competition after five years of full-time engagement. Coaches would sometimes be annoyed by the low quality of his equipment or his limited interest in traveling further than necessary for training or camps, but it reflected, in a way, his pride to be able to do a lot with not much.

Continuing to self-repair his ski poles, suits, and boots, proudly sponsored by Communauto, he did what he could to maintain a minimalist approach up until his last world cup start. Now studying Physical Education at Sherbrooke University, he aspires to pursue a career where he can share his passion for the outdoors and nature, making it as accessible as it can be.

Celeste is a professional athlete living in Squamish British Columbia. She grew up on the North Shore of Vancouver, having access to the mountains in both summer and winter allowed her to pursue her passions in both skiing and mountain biking. Celeste ski raced for a decade before deciding to hang up the speed suit and pursue backcountry and big mountain skiing.

Now represented internationally in both mountain biking and skiing, Celeste has set her focus on human powered adventures and story telling based projects. In 2021, Celeste was in her first ski movie, Wavy 2, with Black Crows teammate Nikolai Schirmer which further grew her love for the sport and inspired her to keep pursuing this lifestyle.

Outside of sport, Celeste has a bachelors degree in alternative energy and geosciences and is currently completing a Masters of Science focusing on energy storage for off-grid communities in northern Canada.

Benjamin Jacob Poechman was born and raised on a family run organic egg farm in the foothills of Southern Ontario. With big mountain dreams and a passion for snowboarding he headed straight for Whistler, BC after graduation. Five years of landscape labour to fund his adventurous winter pursuits while aspiring to be a professional snowboarder… He began to look for a better balance.

In 2017 Ben quit his job landscaping to pursue a more fulfilling lifestyle. His first discovery was an apprenticeship at a stone carving studio in function junction. There he learned to carve stone “inukshuks” for an art gallery over the summer. Developing the skills he needed to create original pieces harvested from his own inspirations.

The miracle of creative expression consumed him that first year, as he began to experiment and explore new mediums. Ben first started painting water colours for birthday gifts and random acts of kindness for friends and family. He later discovered acrylics and canvas, as a whole new world opened up to him. 

Now, Ben’s focus has shifted from “what” he is creating to “why”. With this newfound approach he continues to find new ways to bring about positive change through each new series of work. While he continues to explore new mediums, the root intentions for his work run deep.

David Carrier Porcheron, widely known as DCP, is a prominent figure in the world of snowboarding. Originally from Chicoutimi, Quebec, he discovered his passion for the sport while riding the hills along the Saint Lawrence River. Seeking new horizons, he moved west to Whistler in the late '90s, honing his skills and immersing himself in the backcountry. His remarkable video parts captivated audiences worldwide, one of them earning him the honor of having a spot named after him: “The DCP Cliff”. Alongside his riding accomplishments, DCP collaborated with renowned brands and co-founded YES Snowboards.

Beyond snowboarding, DCP embraces a holistic lifestyle, incorporating yoga, breathwork, and a positive mindset into his routine. Costa Rica holds a special place in his heart, where he indulges in his passion for surfing, drawing inspiration from the waves and natural surroundings. DCP's infectious positivity and passion for conservation of our planet have made him a role model in the snowboarding community and beyond.

Alex Beaulieu-Marchand, 29, from Québec City Canada. He has been skiing since he was 2 years old and always had a passion for Winter sports.  He was the first Canadian male to represent Canada in ski slopestyle at the 2014 Olympics. He then went on to win the bronze at the 2018 Olympics. This is only one of his big accomplishments in his 10-year career as a competitor. Now retired from slopestyle and big air competitions, he set his mind on big mountains and filming with Blank Collective Films. Alex's passion to learn, explore and enjoy the mountains is still growing at full speed

Marion grew up as a gymnast in her hometown of Sherbrooke, QC. At age 17, she discovered aerial skiing and quickly made the switch to become a full-time freestyle skier. Through her new passion, she fell in love with the outdoors and started to spend more and more time in the mountains. Only 5 years after she discovered aerials, she represented Canada at her first Olympic Games and brought back home a bronze medal in the Mixed Team Aerials event. She is a multiple-time World Cup medallist and now a carbon-neutral athlete with the help of WSP Canada. When she isn't training or studying for her aerospace engineering undergraduate degree, she is skiing, rock climbing or hiking somewhere around the world.

Maghalie started riding mountain bikes with her dad as a young girl. She loved being outside with her dad, pushing the limits of what scared her, and exploring new places on the bike. It made her feel special! "I always felt so special when we discovered a new-to-me trail. I felt like it was almost like a small secret". 

Nowadays, Maghalie is a professional cyclocross and mountain bike athlete. She has stood on World Cup podiums and loves to push herself on the race scene. However, as much as she sees the bike as a tool to perform and become the best athlete she can be, she still enjoys the exploration side of the sport. She is equally as passionate about doing big rides in new places, and using the bike as a way to travel and discover a new place and different culture

Dahria is a Canadian cross-country skier and two time Olympian from Whitehorse, Yukon. Dahria started skiing at age 3 in the jackrabbits program in Whitehorse shuffling around the local ski trails without poles. As a kid Dahria did many sports but was especially drawn to the outdoors. Dahria has competed at National Championships in four different sports, skiing, orienteering, soccer and basketball, and has been a multiple time national champion in skiing and orienteering, however her true love was always in skiing. In 2012 Dahria moved to Canmore, Alberta to pursue her dream of becoming an Olympian and a world-class ski racer

Caroline Côté is a professional adventurer and a long-distance athlete. Her main role when she's going on expeditions is to bring back footage for the purpose of presenting outdoor documentaries to her community. One of the latest to be done is about the Polar Shadows project; a 63 day expedition across Spitsbergen unsupported in the arctic winter. Filming in natural places, far away or in complex conditions is her passion and her specialty. Her mission is to engage people in learning more about the subject of nature conservation, and team leadership. Every trip in nature, whether short or long, has taught her lessons and inspired theories that guide her path today.The reason she works as an explorer and adventure filmmaker is that she has this intrinsic desire to feel, every day for the rest of her life, in harmony with the environment in which she interacts. It's by facing her greatest fears and taking on the challenges one after the other that she believes she can more easily connect to her community and the environment as well as ensuring she is always honest with herself.

Sandy Ward is a member of the Lil’wat Nation and a founding member of Indigenous Women Outdoors. She has spent most of her life on snow as a competitive halfpipe rider, First Nations Snowboard Team coach and now lead of the Indigenous Women Outdoors Backcountry Mentorship Program. Through her work with IWO and Indigenous Life Sport Academy, Sandy has continually shown her devotion to ensuring Indigenous peoples can get involved in the outdoors. 

As an avid snowboarder, mountain biker and rock climber she spends most of her time outdoors and enjoys connecting to her traditional territory and seeing it from a different perspective through sport. As a certified mountain bike coach and snowboard instructor, Sandy helps run both snowboard and biking programs within her nation for women and youth interested in getting outside in a safe, welcoming space.

Growing up the youngest of five in the remote west coast of southern New Zealand, Casey Brown was quick to take to an outdoor lifestyle that included gathering edibles from the sea and forest, to wrangling sheep and chickens. Her family moved to Revelstoke, British Columbia when Casey was eleven years old and with that move came bigger mountains. During her first few years in Canada, Casey pursued competitive freestyle skiing. In the beginning, mountain biking was more of a hobby, something she enjoyed doing with her family. Casey’s brother, Sam – an accomplished pro rider in the early 2000’s – introduced her to riding early on.

Casey soon found herself shifting her attention to the sport. In 2012, Casey had a breakout year when she won the Canadian Championships, Queen of Crankworx, and placed 6th at her first DH World Cup. These performances cemented her path to the World Cup Circuit. Many podiums and successes later, she is focused on film projects and riding in Crankworx events. Casey is beyond fired up to keep making a name for herself in the freeride world.

Yuki Tsubota is a 25-year-old skier from Whistler, British Columbia. Raised in Whistler by her mum, Yuki started skiing at three years old and feels fortunate to still call Whistler home. She began as a mogul skier, competing nationally and at NorAms. After seeing Jen Heil win the 2006 Olympic gold in moguls, Yuki decided that representing Canada at the Olympics was what she wanted to do. However, in the spring of 2011, it all changed when slopestyle was announced as an Olympic event. At the time, Yuki was beginning to lose interest in moguls, so she made the switch to slopestyle, and things moved fast from there. She was on the provincial park team for one year, and the next thing she knew, she had made the national team. For Yuki, this was a dream come true. Going to the Sochi 2014 Olympics became that much more attainable and eventually a reality.

Representing Canada at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang were unforgettable experiences, placing sixth at both. Walking into the opening ceremonies wearing the Canadian leaf was one of her favourite memories there and was the moment it hit her that she made it to the Olympics.

Kelsey Serwa started skiing as soon as she could walk. With her grandfather, Cliff Serwa co-founding Big White Ski Resort in the early 1960′s, it was inevitable that Kelsey would lead a life greatly influenced by the skiing community.

From the age of six, Kelsey progressed from level to level in the Alpine world and in 2008, was named to the Women’s National Development Team for Canada. Embracing opportunities, the avid alpine racer made the decision to try something new and transitioned to ski cross in 2009. She took the Ski Cross World Cup Tour by storm, making a name for herself instantaneously and earning the prestigious “FIS Rookie of the Year” award.

With an entire community of family, friends, teachers, and sponsors supporting her, Kelsey has earned 18 World Cup podium finishes, is an Olympic gold and silver medalist, World Champion, 2-time X-Games gold medalist, 2-time Olympian, 2-time National Champion, 2-time South American Champion, and is a university student. Kelsey is the only Triple Crown winner, encompassing victories at the Olympics, World Championships, and X Games. She is also the only ski cross athlete in the world to win multiple Olympic medals.

Vaea Verbeeck was born in Tahiti, French Polynesia, growing up with her mum and older sister in Quebec, Canada. While snowboarding in her late teen years, she bumped into a new group of friends who introduced her to mountain biking the following summer. Vaea was immediately on board, tagging along with her friends to hit some local downhill races. The learning curve was quick, and although Vaea faced her share of injuries through the process, she became one to watch at Downhill World Cups. 

In recent years, Vaea has shifted her focus from Downhill World Cups to the Crankworx World Tour – a mountain bike series hosting all sorts of mountain bike disciplines, from pump track, dual slalom, air downhill, whip off, to downhill races. She has since been working at getting better at other riding disciplines to better her chances at success in the overall race. Crowned the 2019 Queen of Crankworx, Vaea won the overall title and is set to keep her progression going. Her progression as a rider doesn’t end at races either. Vaea has developed a love for big jumps and freeride outside of racing. Being an all-around skilled rider, keeping things fresh throughout the year has been her favourite change in recent years. 

Adam Campbell grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and Malaga, Spain, but now calls Canmore, Alberta home. He enjoys moving fast in the mountains, covering as much terrain as possible – in winter on skis with ice tools and in the summer with running or rock shoes. Adam is a Canadian record holder for 50-miles on trails, a podium finisher for multiple international ultramarathons, and sets records for trails and peaks around the Rockies.

When Adam isn’t off running around the mountains, he is a lawyer with a small practice in Canmore. While travel has largely defined his life, he has become increasingly interested in local backyard and human-powered adventures. Additionally, Adam is passionate about protecting our natural spaces and is getting more involved in policy discussions around the role that protected areas can play in ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

Tim is an international climbing athlete who was born in the UK and now lives in Squamish, Bc with his wife and son. He has established first ascents all over the World from deep water soloing, rock climbing, ice climbing and alpinism. He has also established some of the hardest ice climbs ever done, at Helmcken Falls, BC. Tim graduated with Zoology and is very connected to nature, however he has spent much of his life travelling and see's POW as a great opportunity to reduce his carbon footprint and bring awareness to others.

Skiing started for Erin at the age of 2 on both snow and water. In 2008, she made the Canadian National Alpine team and decided to focus on alpine skiing and the Olympics. Erin has three Olympic Games under her belt and has stood on the podium 3 times at the World Cup level, becoming the first Canadian woman in 41 years to win a World Cup slalom race. Specializing in the technical events, Erin trains and races in many parts of the world, chasing winter and racing on the World Cup circuit. Erin uses her summer training to seek new adventures; summiting peaks to reach target heart rates, planning bike routes to alleviate the monotony of training and trying new activities for different training modalities whether that includes paddle boarding, surfing and trail running. In her down time, she loves to get outside and explore. Nature is her way to unwind, shut off and become more present. Erin loves to look down and see that her phone has no service, whether that is at the top of a mountain or in an off-grid cabin. An animal and nature lover to the core, Erin has to continually find the balance between intensely competing and slowing down to enjoy where the journey takes her. Whether it is reading beside a river or running up a hill at max heart rate, she has to find a way to get outside and breathe the fresh air.

Growing up on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Robin Van Gyn has always lived outdoors and has spent the majority of her life by the ocean and in the mountains. With a strong attraction to the immenseness of mountains, she embarked on a professional snowboarding career at 21 and focused her sights on filming in the backcountry, where she still lives out her snowboard life. Split between the mountains and the ocean, Robin lives on Vancouver Island in the summer and in the coastal mountains all winter making sure she is getting the most of both worlds.

Over a ten year career in snowboarding, Robin has appeared in over seven films including most recently Teton Gravity Research’s Far Out, Depth Perception, and Runway Films’s ‘Full Moon’. She has been at the forefront of female backcountry snowboarding and has earned two Transworld Snowboarding “Women’s Video Part of the Year” awards in 2016 and 2017, as well as being nominated for Rider of the Year. Alongside professional snowboarding, Robin is also a guide at Baldface Lodge where she teaches avalanche safety and is the founder of the Lay Back Weekend which supports environmental, community, and cancer awareness. Being dedicated to spending time outside and bringing others out there with her to enjoy it has piqued her interest in making moves and joining POW to help protect the planet she loves and enjoys for the next generations.

Kim Vinet is a professional freeskier living in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Though chasing powder and pillow lines has led her to pursue competitive freeriding and ski guiding, her background lies in energy production. One chairlift ride with Kim, and you will realize that the passion that drives her in sport also drives her professional life. Her love of the outdoors led her to study Earth & Atmospheric Science, which ironically led her to work in petroleum development. Always having a connection with the environment, Kim used this opportunity to learn regulation and government policy and slowly transitioned to renewable energy production, all while travelling the world on her skis. These days, she is excited to have skiing as a platform to connect with other passionate folks and advocate for this big, beautiful planet we live on.

Filsan Abdiaman (she/her) is a creative, certified running coach, personal trainer, athlete and ultrarunner based in Vancouver, British Columbia. With no athletic background growing up, at the age of 25, Filsan discovered her passion for running as a form of therapy to deal with depression and anxiety attacks after a breakup in 2013.

Her hyphenated identity as a Kenyan-Somali-Canadian-Muslim woman complicated her ability to express herself fully and love herself whole. This led to several challenges, from depression and anxiety to an eating disorder in her late twenties, which running helped her navigate.

Now racing trail ultras and drawing attention to mental health and self-love, her experiences have given her the confidence to pass on her wisdom to other womxn in the community through her grassroots organization—Project Love Run (PLR).

Founded in 2016 and now in multiple Canadian cities, PLR is a running collective offering self-identified womxn a safe space to Run to Brunch while having serious heart-heart discussions that emphasize self-love and self-worth. A proud womxn’s advocate, Filsan’s goal is to highlight the societal problems Black womxn face as a result of their intersectional identities by fostering safer communities for every womxn to be seen and heard.

Elladj is a former Team Canada competitive Figure Skater of Russian and Guinean origin. Over the past few years he has dedicated himself to make figure skating cool again and bringing it back into mainstream culture. Through sharing his captivating skating videos on frozen lakes  in the Canadian Rockies he has proven that the sport of figure skating can transcend competition and become an art form that anyone can use to express themselves. His transition from competing on indoor arenas to exploring his artistic side on outdoor ice has opened his eyes to the majesty and fragility of winters in Canada, and his desire to protect them. Elladj’s passion for music and movement is palpable in his work, and he aims to  inspire young boys to pursue their passion and not be afraid to tap into their artistic and emotional side. His mission is for young BIPOC skaters to look at his  journey and feel like there is a place for them in this sport and the outdoors.

Born and bred as a skier in Australia’s Victorian Alps, Nat Segal has been travelling the world as a top competitor in freeride skiing events, including the Freeride and Freeskiing World Tours since 2010.

Nat is known for her high energy, adventurous spirit, and driven personality. It is these attributes, as well as her proactiveness in the media and her passion for skiing that has found her travelling the world working on a range of projects. This includes filming with Shades of Winter (2014) and co-organizing and participating in the Shifting Ice and Changing Tides Expedition to Greenland, for which she received a National Geographic Young Explorers grant. Based in Chamonix, France, Nat continues to progress her freeride skiing and ski mountaineering skills.

Gabriel Filippi is part of The North Face Athlete Team. In May 2019, he became the first Canadian ever to summit Mount Everest for the third time. Within a 24-period, Gabriel climbed Everest and Lhotse (the 4th highest summit of the world). He has travelled to over 40 countries and achieved numerous technical peaks often while scaling rock cliffs and frozen waterfalls along the way. He is also an ultra-trail runner who completed the Bromont Ulta 160KM and the Ultra-Trail Harricana 125KM. 

His book, “The Escapist, Cheating Death on the World’s Highest Mountains” is on the national bestsellers book list. Gabriel tells how in the span of 20 years spent scaling the highest peaks in the world, he has repeatedly cheated death. From a Taliban attack on a mountainside in Northern Pakistan that felled 11 of his climbing companions to the deadliest disaster in Everest’s history when an earthquake killed 20 persons, he has survived again and again. He proves an old axiom true: no climber returns from a summit the same person as when he began his ascent. Sometimes the alteration is physical, but more often it’s buried within. 

When not climbing, Gabriel is an internationally sought after speaker. As a POW ambassador, he will present the educational program Hot Planet, Cool Athletes to our next generation across Canada.

Anna Segal is a professional skier from Melbourne, Australia. She competed on the international freeski circuit in slopestyle for ten years and made her debut as an Olympic athlete in the 2014 Winter Olympics. She won gold in the 2011 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships and X-Games 2013. The Olympics would be the end of her competitive career though, as she made the switch to filming. She now resides in Whistler, British Columbia, where she challenges herself in the backcountry.

Tobin Seagel was born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He was taught to compost before it was cool and spent his summer vacations exploring retreating glaciers with his geologist parents.

Tobin is stoked to join the POW Riders Alliance, as an athlete and as a professional working in the environmental field. He has been on ski expeditions to some of the most remote places on Earth and has observed the direct impacts of climate change.

Outside of skiing, Tobin is a professional biologist, with an undergraduate degree in Resource Conservation and a Master’s degree in Environmental Design. His work involves analyzing the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of energy development. Through Tobin’s actions and involvement with POW, he hopes to inspire people to enact the changes we need to make in our interactions with the environment.

Truly dedicated to the mountains and passionate about movement in them, Chris Rubens spends the majority of his time self-propelling in the backcountry and putting down beautiful lines for both film and photo projects. Lately his pursuit of adventure has become year-round; creating quality climbing, running, hiking, and bike content. An impressive athlete, a strong chapter, and funny personality, Chris’ stories resonate with audiences because they are a window into an amazing life. He spends most of his winters collaborating with Salomon TV, MatchStick Productions, and Sherpas Cinema. Between trips you can find Chris at home in Revelstoke, British Columbia, the perfect backyard for endless opportunities for outdoor pursuits. 

Marie-France Roy grew up in Quebec, Canada, and began following her two older brothers around the local resort on a snowboard at 11 years old. A love for snowboarding influenced her move to Whistler, British Columbia, and she has been happily living the life of a professional snowboarder for over a decade. From her early competition experience at the X Games to her more recent back-to-the-mountains approach, Roy has traveled the world while enjoying the ride. Known for being one of the most stylish and versatile riders in snowboarding, Roy is also recognized for her humble and giving nature. She is the recipient of the 2015 Climate Activist Award from Protect Our Winters and TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine. Roy divides her time between Whistler and a self-built, environmentally-minded cob home on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Kye Petersen is 28 years old and has been a professional skier for 14 years. Growing up in Whistler, British Columbia, as the son of big mountain skiing pioneer Trevor Petersen, Kye was drawn to a love for the mountains and a progression of backcountry skiing from ski mountaineering to freestyle and freeriding. Being surrounded by like-minded mentors as a kid, Kye spent much of his time hiking around the backcountry of Blackcomb and honing his mountain skills on mountains from Chamonix to Alaska. Following that, Kye competed in multiple freeride contests and filmed many film segments most recently noted ‘Numinous’ film which he produced alongside Dendrite Studios and was awarded Movie of the Year at Powder video awards 2017 as well as Skier of the Year by Freeskier magazine.

Kye continues to make surfing, climbing, biking, skating, and skiing the mainstay of his lifestyle. He advocates for protection of our oceans and land around the south coast of BC by being a voice that brings awareness to issues related to the world’s climate change crisis. He currently resides in Pemberton, BC, where he works with a new ski shaping company to be launched this fall… ’Kye Shapes’ built by ‘Foon Skis’ where they aim to build the best product, implement new designs, shapes and materials to the ski building industry to lessen our impact on the planet and improve the quality of ride on snow. Kye also works deeply with Patagonia, Buff Neckwear, and Oakley Eyewear. Kye hopes to inspire future generations to care about our environment and make a difference simply because they can.

Stan Rey took his technical background in ski racing and skicross to the back-country, where he now enjoys chasing powder and busting backies off any drop you care to point out to him. Stan’s winters now revolve around filming for BLANK and Salomon Freeski TV.

He skis fast, sends hard and is dedicated to spreading his new religious movement: #backysunday and to make this planet we call Earth a better place, so his kids, grandkids, and generations to come will be able to enjoy the amazing wintery mountains just as he did.

Considered one of the most well-rounded professional snowboarders in the world, Leanne Pelosi has won Snowboarder and Transworld Magazine’s esteemed Female Rider Of The Year Award, Transworld Reader’s Choice Award, and appeared on the 2014 ESPN’s Top 50 Women of Action Sports list. With over ten video parts in Standard Films, Misschief, the web series ‘P.S.’, and two of her own previous produced Runway Films movies, she is at it again producing and directing her third film ‘Full Moon’ with some of the best backcountry women on the planet. In her downtime, you will find her in Oregon at High Cascade Snowboard Camp as a signature session’er and exploring the west coast, camping in her BigFoot camper with her fiancé Jeff Keenan and their dog Keita.

Spencer O’Brien was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia. At the age of four, her family relocated to Courtenay, BC, where she spent every winter at Mount Washington Ski Alpine Resort learning to ski and snowboard with her family. She spent her adolescence competing at local events around BC with her older sister Meghann.

Spencer has been a fixture on slopestyle podiums for the past decade. She won Transworld’s Rookie of the Year in 2008 and has gone on to win six X Games medals, one of them being gold in 2016. She is a two-time World Champion and a two-time Olympian for Team Canada.

Coming from a small aboriginal community and being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2013 pushed Spencer into working closely with Nike N7 (a collection that supports sport and physical activity programming to kids in Native American and Aboriginal communities) and Arthritis Research Canada.

Mike Hopkins is a professional athlete, producer, and director. Working alongside the agency Juicy Studios, he runs an adventure-loving production team that embraces wicked stories. Based in the tiny mountain town of Rossland, British Columbia, Mike grew up surrounded by the outdoors. He has been calling “play”, his “work” for the past decade where he has been lucky enough to win awards, explore the world, and meet great people. During his travels, he experienced the impact humans have on the planet’s natural resources, so teamed up with POW to help communicate the systemic changes needed to work with nature rather than through it. Born and raised in Whistler, Julia Murray is a ski cross 2010 Olympian, daughter of Crazy Canuck Dave Murray, mountain biker, runner, and loves adventuring in her backyard She’s also the ‘80/20 Plants’ program spokesperson + coach, and the vegan blogger, holistic nutritionist, and certified plant-based chef behind  Hooked on Plants.  She’s named one of Canada’s top vegan athletes, and is certified as a Main Street Vegan lifestyle coach. She’s also co-founder of medicinal mushroom company, Stay Wyld Organics and co-creator of the Whistler Vegan Fest!

To have one world-class snowboarder from the prairies of Saskatchewan is pretty rare, but two? As the elder statesman of the McMorris brothers, Craig McMorris is a veteran of the Canadian snowboard scene after first stepping on a board at the young age of 11.

Like any true older brother, Craig has been a mentor to his younger sibling over the years, teaching Mark a few tricks along the way.

Craig McMorris ‘sends it’ at all times with a personality as big as the tricks he stomps. But beyond the antics on and off the hill, Craig is all business and is a regular commentator and contributor to CBC Olympic coverage as well as ESPN’s Winter and Summer X Games.

Hailing from Whistler, British Columbia, Ashleigh McIvor began ski racing at the age of ten, eventually transitioning to skicross in her young 20’s. Now, she is a retired Canadian skicross Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion. Following her retirement announcement, Ashleigh keeps busy with speaking engagements and appearances for sponsors, partners and charitable organizations, as well as freeskiing and mountain biking for various videographers and photographers.

Ian McIntosh started skiing at the age of two, learning to walk just two months prior. Growing up in a small ski town near Banff, Alberta, Ian knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life: ski. After high school, he moved to Whistler, British Columbia, where he and several ski friends would live for a year. Following this ‘ski bum’ year, he travelled to New Zealand to follow the snow and his passion. Since then, he has competed on the Freeride World Tour and has been featured in multiple ski films. For Ian though, “It’s all about being in the powder.”

Philippe Marquis is originally from Quebec City where he started skiing at the young age of two. Thanks to his parents’ cabin in front of Stoneham Ski Resort and the support of his big brother Vincent, Phil developed a strong passion for freestyle skiing. Over the years, he became one of the very best mogul skiers in the world and a chief rival of Canadian freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury. The two shared the dual moguls podium at the 2015 International Ski Federation (FIS) World Championships, along with teammate Marc-Antoine Gagnon, during what was the first-ever sweep by a Canadian trio in the history of the sport.

Phil is a fierce competitor with a positive outlook, two personality traits that helped him make his way to finals in the 2018 Olympic Games despite a torn ACL. His emotional journey to the Olympics captured Canadians’ hearts from coast-to-coast. Phil’s lovable personality has made him a natural on camera but has also proved useful as one of the veterans of the Canadian team over the past 12 years.

Karsten Madsen is a professional Cross Triathlete who began his career in traditional road triathlon and cross country mountain bike racing before progressing into doing off road triathlon. Since going professional in 2014, he’s become a five-time Xterra Major title winner, three-time National Champion and placed 3rd overall in the 2016 & 2018 Xterra Pan American Tours. In 2018, after two failed attempts at Xterra World Championships in Maui, he had a breakthrough performance and placed 7th. He now has his sights set on becoming Xterra World Champion. When he’s not racing or training, he spends time coaching athletes to achieve their goals in sport. Karsten also volunteers his time getting kids involved with triathlon.

While most Calgary skiers Izzy’s age were riding the lifts and hitting gates, the Lynch family was busy building a backcountry lodge in British Columbia, an experience which fostered Izzy’s love for nature and big mountain skiing at a young age. Although Izzy did ski race and compete at an international level, it was that feeling of freedom that she found in the isolated mountains at the lodge that pulled her to build a life in the mountains. Now a mother, she shares those same values with her own son. As a storyteller, Izzy’s craft is to merge skiing with those kismet moments she has in remote areas, sharing different narratives of herself and others pushing their boundaries in films and writing. She wears many hats in the outdoor industry, merging all facets of her life – from backcountry skiing, coaching , motherhood and filmmaking, to collaborating with fellow athletes and volunteers as the Program Coordinator for POW Canada. She resides in Revelstoke, BC.

With a ‘do everything’ attitude, Justin Lamoureux is a pro snowboarder who has been to two Winter Olympic Games for halfpipe (finishing 7th in 2010) and won the 2010 FIS World Cup Tour in halfpipe. Justin climbed and rode all 30 mountains you can see from his house in Squamish, BC, is an Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) splitboard guide, hand builds Spline Snowboards using bio-based resins and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. An environmentalist from a young age, he has worked with the David Suzuki Foundation and Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, truly believing in the saying, “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”. Justin is looking forward to once again helping educate people (and his son) about our impact on our one and only Earth.

The mountain has been at the center of Kim Lamarre’s entire life. She started skiing at the age of two and snowboarding at the age of seven. With her grandmother, Ginette “Gigi” Seguin, being an Olympian that represented Canada in alpine at the 1956 Cortina Winter Games, Kim started dreaming big at a very young age. She wanted to excel in a sport but she just didn’t know which one. In 2001 Kim saw the skis movie “Propaganda” by Poor Boyz Productions. That’s where her passion for freeskiing started. She now had the dream of competing at the X Games. She achieved that dream when Women Ski Slopestyle made its debut in 2009. She got her first medal in 2011, a bronze at the European X Games in Tignes, France.

To cap off an amazing 2011, the Olympics announced that ski slopestyle would make its debut at the 2014 Sochi Games. Kim now had one goal in mind: Follow her grandma’s footsteps and become an Olympian! Sadly for Kim, she tore a ligament in her right knee both in 2012 and 2013. Consequently, the Canadian Freestyle team decided that the Quebec freeskier wasn’t worthy of a spot on the team anymore. Kim wasn’t ready to give up on her dreams and gave it her 120%. The hard work paid off. With the support of her family, friends and the community, Kim went on to have the best season of her life. A podium finish at the Dew Tour, X Games, and Olympics. The three biggest events of the season.

Greg Hill began backcountry skiing in 1995 and completely immersed himself in this sport ever since. His enthusiasm and endurance slowly separated him from the pack. Countless days spent skinning uphill, honed his skills till he has become one of the foremost ski mountaineers in Canada. Always pushing deeper into the unknown, be it his personal limits or an unexplored mountainside. He has hundreds of first descents around his home range in British Columbia, Canada, as well as South America, Norway and Pakistan. Greg is best known for when he climbed and skied 2 million vertical feet (609km) in 2010, climbing 71 mountains (in both North America and South America). which earned him “Top 25 fittest guys in the world” for Men’s Fitness 2011 and ‘Skiers of the Year” for Skiing magazine 2011. Greg was also one of the “Adventurers of the Year” for National Geographic Adventure 2006.

Recently, Greg has taken to deeply looking into sustainable adventure and exploring these realities. He has sold his F-350 and snowmobile, no longer heli-guides, travels to all his mountain adventures in an Electric car, and has now climbed 40 mountains without the use of fossil fuels.

Bold and determined, Brette Harrington’s approach towards climbing has always been an amalgamation of wonder, emotion, and strategy. Brette’s brave, yet calculated first ascents and solos show her true grit – the stuff legends are made of. Among friends and family, Brette is loved for her genuine patience and sincerity, always inquiring about others rather than talking about herself. She is a well-rounded climber with a passion for freeing climbs. Despite being a technician with movement, Brette is known for her unique experience from living on a portaledge for nearly two years to her frequent midnight rappels in the alpine and her ability to improvise quickly. Her bold vision and creative choice of routes stimulate her soul.

West coast based snowboarder spending winters in Whistler BC and the other half of the year on the move in search of waves. Taylor moved to Whistler in 2006 with the intention of staying for one year before heading off to travel the world and/or go back to school. She quickly fell in love with spending time in the mountains and extended her stay. The majority of her time in Whistler is spent in the backcountry, hunting out new objectives with her crew in their backyard, a place that yields endless opportunities for world-class terrain.

When not in the mountains her passion lies in logging as much time as possible in the ocean surfing. She juggles a career as an athlete and as an entrepreneur in the worlds of plant-based cuisine, art, holding wellness retreats, and freelance writing. Her heartfelt intention is to help raise the consciousness of the world be it through story-telling via the written word or imagery; or by direct action in sport and the integrity of which we live.

Alexi Godbout is a skier and filmmaker residing in Pemberton, British Columbia. The early parts of his skiing career were mostly spent in the park, competing in slopestyle. He’s attended numerous high-level events such as X Games, Dew Tours, Euro Open, US Open, and the list goes on. For the last five years, Alexi has fully switched his focus to big mountain skiing and filmmaking for Blank Collective Films. It has been ‘one hell of a ride’ and a lot of mountain knowledge to learn, but Alexi says he is having the time of his life right now.

Will Gadd is a prominent Canadian ice climber and paraglider pilot, based in the Bow Valley of Alberta. Some of his major accomplishments include establishing the hardest mixed ice climbing lines in the world, setting the world distance record for paragliding twice, and kayaking down dozens of first ascents across North America. He won the Canadian National Sport-Climbing Championships four times, three gold medals at the X Games, the Ice Climbing World Cup, and won the US and Canadian Paragliding Nationals. When Will isn’t flying his paraglider over the Grand Canyon, climbing icebergs off the coast of Labrador, or taking the title as the first one-day ascent of the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson, he works as a climate activist in the mountain community.

Through a partnership between the United Nations Environment and the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation, Will was selected to be a UN Environment Mountain Hero. Will is proud to stand amidst other Mountain Heroes who dedicate a portion of their time to raise awareness of environmental issues. In particular, Will is dedicated to environmental protection of mountains, where early indicators of the effects of climate change are already becoming visible.

Leah Evans grew up on the slopes of Red Mountain Ski Resort in Rossland, British Columbia surrounded by a supportive community and the beauty of Canadian mountains. As a professional skier, she helps women reach their full potential on skis through her Girls Do Ski camps. She currently resides in Revelstoke, British Columbia and uses her experience in the mountains to inspire others to expand their sense of what’s possible in their lives.

This Burton Ambassador is aspiring to be a full backcountry snowboard guide in Revelstoke B.C. This mountain momma is fully dedicated to pursing her passions in mountains. Just like all our athletes, her career depends on the wellness of our planet. She feels that her job isn’t only to enjoy the mountains and the sea but to protect them as well. With her family being the most important aspect of her life, the longevity and health of our planet is of her upmost concern. Kate has so much positivity and enthusiasm when it comes to sharing how special life is and there is nothing she wants more than to share the experiences she had with her son Timber and those around her.

Hailing from Kimberley, British Columbia, Nick McNutt moved to Whistler right after high school to build his life around skiing. Spending the winters filming with his close friends, he was eventually noticed by the folks at Teton Gravity Research who have been filming him ever since, leading to Powder Awards and featured film segments. He gained a reputation for his freestyle approach to the backcountry and now calls Squamish his home base. In the off-season, Nick can be found up on the walls putting up new rock climbs, or on the trails riding his mountain bike.

Mike Douglas has been called one of the 10 most influential freeskiers of all time. He, along with the members of the New Canadian Air Force, pioneered modern freestyle skiing and developed the first high-performance twin tip ski with Salomon back in 1997. Since then he’s won dozens of awards for his skiing, and has more recently added award-winning filmmaker to his resume. His company, Switchback Entertainment, produces documentary adventure films and the web series Salomon TV.

Haley’s story began with a paddle in her hand and a smile on her face. She grew up exploring Canadian rivers on canoe trips with her family and quickly fell in love with the thrill of fast-moving water and the hidden places it took her.

Haley’s been at the forefront of gender equality reform to push for equal opportunity in sport. As the multiple Canadian champion in women’s whitewater slalom canoeing and Pan Am Games Bronze Medalist, she’s pioneering a legacy towards Tokyo where women’s canoeing will make its debut in the Olympics.

When Haley isn’t paddling, you can find her running trails, skiing down mountains, or biking on roads and ridges to take in all the outdoors has to offer.

Irie Smith is a passionate snowboarder and mountain biker raised in Whistler, BC. Her upbringing in Whistler has given her the opportunity to see the effects of climate change first hand, from the melting of nearby glaciers to increasing days of smoke from surrounding summer fires. When she was 17 years old she committed to living a zero waste lifestyle, fitting all of her waste from the year into a 500 ml mason jar. She continues to lead by example, educating herself on composting, recycling, and zero waste practices. Inspired by what she has learned through her zero waste practices in the past few years, she is hopeful that future generations will be able to slow the rate of climate change and keep those POW slaying winters for years to come.

Ray Zahab is a Canadian Explorer, ultra distance runner and Founder of the non-profit impossible2Possible, which has been hosting free youth based expeditions for the past 13 years. A recipient of the Meritorious Service Cross of Canada, he is an Explorer in Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. In 2015 Canadian Geographic recognized Ray as one of Canada’s Top Explorers. Ray has ran 17,000+km across the world’s deserts, and unsupported expeditions across some of the coldest places on the planet. Most proudly, Ray is dad to 2 daughters that are active outdoor athletes. Through his own expeditions and those of impossible2Possible, Ray has made it a goal to contribute in preserving and protecting this amazing planet for future generations.

Tamo Campos is an environmental activist, filmmaker, and professional snowboarder who founded the group, Beyond Boarding; a collective of snowboarders, artists, and activists that combine their love for the outdoors with environmental outreach and action.

A sponsored snowboarder since the age of 11, Tamo has chased steep mountains, riding competitions, and video parts for 15 years. During this time, his passion for the outdoors morphed into a mission for environmental justice. Whether it’s training communities about the power of storytelling and direct action, riding first descents into the Sacred Headwaters or leading environmental film projects, Tamo embeds himself in the community wherever he goes. Tamo dedicates himself to combining social impact with his adventures in sport, activism, and filmmaking.

John Leslie is originally from a small town in Ontario called Arnprior. Although John lost his leg to cancer at the age of 10 he has always been a winter enthusiast and really fell for snowboarding in highschool. Being a part of his highschool snowboard racing program and having some success on the snow, it came to light that John had a disability. He was put in contact with Canada Snowboard and in 2011 moved to Whistler to pursue Paralympic Snowboarding. John has proudly represented Canada at two Paralympic Games and is on track to complete in the Beijing 2022 Paralympics. He has also competed at events such as X Games, Dew Tour, and World Championships. When John is not on the snow, catch him in schools with his non-profit, Loving Winter, working with physical education teachers to develop “dry land” training programs that prepare students for school ski trips. John works in Whistler as a personal trainer and loves going on adventures with his dog Zak. Some of his passions include canoeing, photography, and surfing.

Alannah Yip is a climber hailing from North Vancouver, British Columbia. Her childhood spent skiing, hiking, biking, and climbing all over the North Shore is what got her interested in environmental activism. Alannah won her first National Climbing Championship at 12 years old, marking the beginning of her impressive climbing career. Today, she has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of British Columbia and has qualified to represent Canada in Sport Climbing’s debut Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020/2021. 

Mario Rigby was born in Turks and Caicos Islands and spent his childhood in a small village near Stuttgart, Germany, before moving to Toronto, Canada at the age of 16. He has always had a tremendous drive to push limits in athletics and exploration. 

An adventurer at heart, Mario likes to take himself to his physical and emotional limits. His first adventure kicked off when he walked from Toronto to Montreal in 14 days to prepare for the expedition of a lifetime. He spent the next two to three years walking 12,000 kilometres across the entire continent of Africa, from Cape Town in the south to Cairo in the north. 

Mario’s stories are gripping and thought-provoking as he learns about humanity and overcoming fear. In a world that’s rapidly changing, Mario believes his life lessons are worth sharing to enable other people to display more courage and tackle important issues.

Originally from British Columbia, Mark Abma is one of the most popular freeskiers in North America. Trained in mogul skiing before committing to park and half-pipe competitions, Mark seized the chance to ski for some of the biggest film productions in 2003. He has been a Matchstick Productions (MSP) star for more than ten years, along with making appearances in Warren Miller and Poor Boyz Productions. Between harvesting organic vegetables and collecting cooking oil to fill the tank of his 4×4, this exuberant skier received discerning attention at the Powder Video Award for Best Male Performance in 2005 and 2007.

Anita's favorite thing is being proven wrong… it forces her to up her game!  She’s a one time elementary school red rover champion, uses her oven to store sweaters, an avid campaigner for mountain bikes with built in airbags and has learned the best protection against  thieves is labeling a suitcase ” Radioactive Waste”. An all mountain matador, she divides her time between the Pacific Coast Mountains, the Internet and remote corners of the world working on global humanitarian & crisis projects. A decade ago, Anita became the first professional freeride mountain biker of Indian descent. 

She was named one of the World’s Most Adventurous Women as well as one of the World’s Most Provocative Cultural Catalysts for her pioneering role in diversifying outdoor sports and leading international conflict resolution initiatives from human slavery to the global refugee crises to capacity building. Anita is a multiple award-winning humanitarian, aspiring astronaut, environmental and electrical engineer, anti-racism consultant, climber and snow sport aficionado. Her best advise? “ Don’t be a docile member of your generation, be a revolutionary! ”
