Consider this your conditions report:
On Saturday October 17th, there’s a general local election in British Columbia, which means casting your vote for positions such as: mayors and municipal councillors, regional district directors, school boards trustees, and others, depending on where you live.
This is your chance to stand up for the places and experiences you love: Commit to a plan of WHEN and WHERE you're going to vote. This is an important step! Studies show having a plan actually works (unlike just a reminder). You'll receive an email confirmation with a copy of your response so voting day is as easy as stopping on the way to the trail head. Let's do this!
- Make sure you’re 18 or older on October 17th, 2026, a Canadian citizen, a resident of B.C. for at least six months immediately before you register to vote, and a resident of the municipality or electoral area on the day you register to vote
- Lost your tracks? Local governments all run their own elections, which means they’re managed individually (unlike provincial elections). We can’t link to every community, but if you look up “[your community name] municipal election 2026” that’s a good place to start!
- Ready to drop in? Vote4Tomorrow has gathered information on candidates, platforms, and more.
RSVP with your pledge to vote here, then send this to a friend! We've got POWer in numbers.
Municipal governments control or influence more than half of Canada’s emissions, making local action crucial for effective climate solutions. By engaging with local policymakers, our chapters can drive significant change where it matters most.
