West Fraser's plans to clear-cut nearly 900 hectares of forest in the beloved West Bragg Creek and Moose Mountain areas threaten our cherished outdoor haven, crisscrossed with hiking, biking, and skiing trails. Unless there is a strong public outcry, this clear-cutting will irreversibly impact our community's recreational heartland.
The current plan is for West Fraser to begin in 2026, however our chapters, lead by our Calgary chapter leaders, are steadfast in their mission to halt this project.
Teaming up with local organizations, Indigenous groups, and passionate outdoor enthusiasts, POW Canada and our chapters aim to shape policy that safeguards sensitive recreational areas from future clear-cutting.
We are stronger together. Join us in this mission to save our outdoor playgrounds.
Our Bow Valley Chapter is a passionate group of POW Canada members dedicated to creating tangible change in their community. We are currently building our leadership team in this chapter. If you are interested in becoming a chapter leader with POW Bow Valley email us at info@protectourwinters.ca.
