Plogging is the act of jogging while picking up litter. Plogging originated in Sweden in 2016 and emerged following increased concern about plastic pollution. 300 million tons of plastic gets created yearly and 8 million tons of plastic enters our oceans everywhere. Through participating in BUFF® Plogging Day 2022, you can make an immediate impact on the reduction of waste in your community.
We started BUFF® Plogging Day to show that small actions make a big difference. We can make a difference to this planet through consistent small actions that add up overtime.
Join the BUFF® family on June 18th, 2022, as we complete a North American wide plogging event in partnership with POW. The event will take place at the following locations:
- Gord’s Running Store - Calgary, Alberta, 11:00am
- Boutique Courir – Montreal, Quebec, 2:00pm
- Toronto, Ontario - Trail entrance at the Southwest Parking Lot of Evergreen Brick Works at 10:00am
We will provide the plogging kits and there will be a running guide to facilitate the running route. Everyone is welcome! No matter your running ability, we invite you to participate and you can go at your own pace. After the event, join us for an Après with food and drinks!
Can’t attend a retailer? No worries. We encourage you to participate in the event by yourself or with your friends and family through the days of June 10th, 2022, - June 24, 2022. Make sure to share the event on social media with the hashtag #BuffPloggingDay.
