Plan a future gift to POW Canada
Climate advocacy is a long game. Winning the policy battles that protect our mountains, our snowpack, and our seasons means showing up year after year, lobby trip after lobby trip, election cycle after election cycle.
When you include POW Canada in your will, you're not just making a donation. You're making a commitment to the future fight and ensuring the outdoor community always has a seat at the table.

How to Leave a Gift
Leaving a gift in your will is simpler than most people think. Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Decide what kind of gift you'd like to leave
There are a few options, and any of them make a difference:
- A specific dollar amount: straightforward and easy to include in your will
- A percentage of your estate: a flexible option that adjusts to the value of your estate at the time
- A residual gift: the remainder of your estate after other beneficiaries and expenses are settled
- A named asset: securities, property, or other holdings
Step 2: Talk to a legal professional
We recommend working with a lawyer or notary when creating or updating your will. They can help you structure the gift to maximize both its impact and any available tax benefits.
Step 3: Use our legal name and charitable number
When wording your bequest, please use the following:
Protect Our Winters Canada Charitable Registration Number: 789126737 RR 0001 Address: 18 King Street East, Suite 1400, Toronto ON M5C 1C4
Suggested wording: "I give to Protect Our Winters Canada, charitable registration number BN: 789126737 RR 0001, ___% of the residue of my estate (or the sum of $____), to be used for its general charitable purposes."
Step 4: Let us know (optional, but appreciated)
You're under no obligation to tell us. But if you'd like to share that you've included us, we'd love to thank you and keep you connected to the work your gift will one day support. Everything you share is strictly confidential, and you can change your mind at any time.
