There are a few options, and any of them make a difference:

• A percentage of your estate: a flexible option that adjusts to the value of your estate at the time
• A residual gift: the remainder of your estate after other beneficiaries and expenses are settled
• A named asset: securities, property, or other holdings

Step 2: Talk to a legal professional

We recommend working with a lawyer or notary when creating or updating your will. They can help you structure the gift to maximize both its impact and any available tax benefits.

When wording your bequest, please use the following:
