Growing up in Australia, Anthony Bonello was late to the mountains but learned to ski in Chamonix, France when he left home after high school. These days, he calls Whistler, British Columbia, home and has become an award-winning adventure documentary filmmaker. Anthony co-directed "STAND", a surf and stand up paddleboarding (SUP) documentary highlighting the threats facing BC's west coast due to the proposed Northern Gateway Pipeline and tanker route through the Great Bear Rainforest. As a director and producer at Switchback Entertainment for Salomon TV, he has made films from around the world portraying the characters, places and cultures of the mountains, all while keeping pace with the athletes he works with. In 2016, Anthony led a ski/science expedition to Greenland with renowned glaciologist, Alun Hubbard, who discovered new processes affecting a potentially increased rate of global sea-level rise. The expedition became the film "Guilt Trip" that included a virtual reality educational component in collaboration with Google. As an advocate for protecting the wild places and focusing his lens on them, Anthony is enthusiastic and excited to be a part of POW Canada because the more we band together, the greater and more meaningful the impact.
