Reuben Krabbe is a photographer whose studio is anywhere beyond asphalt. Living in Squamish, he works throughout British Columbia creating images that encapsulate the beauty and ambition of life spent outside. Reuben works over the shoulder of film productions like Salomon Freeski TV, Matchstick Productions, Teton Gravity Research, and his images are seen in the pages of most ski magazines.

In 2016, Reuben had a major personal realization of the ‘depth of climate change hypocrisy and since then, has prioritized the pursuit of sustainability in his own craft. Since 2017, Reuben is proud to say that all of his work has been carbon offset.

Sandy Ward is a member of the Lil’wat Nation and a founding member of Indigenous Women Outdoors. She has spent most of her life on snow as a competitive halfpipe rider, First Nations Snowboard Team coach and now lead of the Indigenous Women Outdoors Backcountry Mentorship Program. Through her work with IWO and Indigenous Life Sport Academy, Sandy has continually shown her devotion to ensuring Indigenous peoples can get involved in the outdoors. 

As an avid snowboarder, mountain biker and rock climber she spends most of her time outdoors and enjoys connecting to her traditional territory and seeing it from a different perspective through sport. As a certified mountain bike coach and snowboard instructor, Sandy helps run both snowboard and biking programs within her nation for women and youth interested in getting outside in a safe, welcoming space.

Dr. Tara Holland is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Geography at Simon Fraser University. 

She did her PhD research on climate change impacts and adaptation with the Global Environmental Change group at the University of Guelph. In her current role, she is focused on researching the teaching methods that best facilitate learning in science education, including how best to communicate climate change causes, impacts, and solutions. From 2016-2018, she was part of an interdisciplinary, international team of educators who developed the Earth and Environmental Science curriculum for the University of Central Asia, a new university in Tajikistan that services students from remote mountain communities. In her non-academic time, Tara can most reliably be found outside in the forest or mountains - she is a trail and mountain ultramarathon runner, competing in distances ranging from 50-100+ kms. She won the Squamish 50k in 2019, finished 3rd at the Whistler Alpine Meadows 100k in 2022, and recently qualified for the UTMB series 100k final in France, which she will run in 2024.

Mike Douglas has been called one of the ten most influential freeskiers of all time. He, along with the members of the New Canadian Air Force, pioneered modern freestyle skiing and developed the first high-performance twin tip ski with Salomon back in 1997. Since then, Mike has won dozens of awards for his skiing and more recently, added award-winning filmmaker to his resume. His company, Switchback Entertainment, produces documentary adventure films and the web series Salomon TV.

Mike has spent most of his life training for skiing on the Horstman Glacier in Whistler, British Columbia. Over the years, he started to notice the glacier shrinking and changing. He noticed that not only was it changing, but the change seemed to be accelerating. Around the same time, there was more and more talk about global warming and climate change. Mike realized it was happening right before his eyes. Since then, he has been a major advocate for climate action, highlighting the importance of using our collective voice to make a difference.

As one of mountain sport industry’s leading marketing strategists and co-owner of Origin Design & Communications, M-J Legault is the driving force behind several mountain sports and destination marketing campaigns. Legault holds a degree in Marketing from Concordia University and has worked in ad agencies based in B-C, Colorado and Vermont, never straying far from the mountains that inspire her. Legault has worked with brands such as Salomon, TNF, Jay Peak Resort, Taos Ski Valley, Lululemon and Whistler Blackcomb. After a stint at Origin’s Whistler office, Legault saw the potential for expanding the Origin brand and, in 2002, she piloted her motorcycle east and opened an office in Montreal, where she now lives. MJ is a frequent speaker at conferences for The National Ski Areas Association, Mountain Travel Symposium, The National Parks and Recreation Association and the Outdoor Industry Association.

Manuelle is a director at Cycle Capital, a leading ClimateTech venture capital platform that scales impactful, sustainable innovation. Cycle Capital invests across North America and Europe in growing companies that commercialize solutions to major ecological challenges and contribute to a net-zero transition. An avid skier and mountaineer, Manuelle developed her fondness for the outdoors and deep connection with nature at an early age in the Mont-Tremblant area before moving to the Canadian Rockies at 18 years old to pursue her passion for big mountain skiing. A climate activist at heart, she helped the POW Canada team launch their Vancouver chapter in the Fall of 2018 and has supported the cause ever since. Manuelle studied at the University of Calgary and Stanford University before completing an MBA at HEC Montreal, where she received a leadership scholarship for her extracurricular work on Climate and Feminism advocacy, as she sees them as intertwined issues.
