EASTERN ROCKIES OUTDOOR RIDING

Alberta’s Eastern Rockies encompass some of North America's most iconic landscapes: the breathtaking Bow Valley, the jagged peaks of Jasper, and the quiet foothill trails further north. Longer fire seasons, droughts, and other extreme weather show us just how vulnerable these mountain ecosystems are to the effects of climate change - and not in some distant future. Protecting these spaces means advocating for both the landscape and the people who love it. And you can help!

Here's the beta:

A referendum has been set for October 19, 2026, with ten questions to answer - mostly with “yes” or “no” answers, but not for all. Looking for other wording? They’re broken down here.

To vote, you must prove your identity and current address. What next? Check out Where to Vote if you haven’t gotten your Where to Vote card!

  • You can register to vote at any time!

  • Each question will be on a separate numbered and colour-coded ballot (except if you are voting by mail. Vote by mail ballots are all white).

  • Over 6.5 million people visit either Bow Valley and Jasper annually - it’s world-renowned for a reason!
  • The employment generated by outdoor recreation in Alberta yields a job-creation rate 6.1 times higher than the forestry and logging industries per dollar spent.

  • When looking at the Bow River Basin region, reports estimate water-based outdoor recreation alone contributes over $115 million to the local economy!

  • Almost 50% of people who live in Jasper rely on the outdoor recreation and tourism sectors. Luckily, visitation has bounced back following the devastating fire of 2024.
