Nina Aragon, POW US Science Alliance Captain

Nina Aragon is the captain of the POW Science Alliance team. Her research focuses on understanding how snow links together human, ecological, and human systems in the context of climate change. Nina is part of the Community Snow Observations research effort at OSU aimed at improving our understanding of current and future snow in mountain environments. 

 

 

Dahria Beatty, 2x Olympian Professional Ski Racer & Buff Ambassador

Dahria is a Canadian cross-country skier from Whitehorse, Yukon. In 2012 Dahria moved to Canmore, Alberta to pursue her dream of becoming an Olympian and a world-class ski racer. Training under the guidance of the Alberta World Cup Academy and National Ski Team, Dahria achieved one of her lifelong goals in 2018 when she competed at the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

 

 

Yuki Tsubota, 2x Olympian Skier & POW Canada Alliance Member

Yuki Tsubota is a skier from Whistler, British Columbia. Raised in Whistler by her mum, Yuki started skiing at three years old and feels fortunate to still call Whistler home. She represented Canada at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi and 2018 in the slopestyle category.

 

Natalie KnowlesClimate Scientist & POW Canada Science Member

Nat Knowles is a climate scientist, wilderness conservationist, and outdoor athlete. Her research focuses on mitigating climate change, managing its inevitable impacts, and using outdoor recreation and tourism for sustainable socio-economic development.
