2025 has been declared the International Year of Glaciers' Preservation (IYGP) by the United Nations, and we’re taking this opportunity to highlight the critical role glaciers, snow, and ice play in our climate system, water cycles, and the well-being of communities worldwide. In British Columbia (BC), where glaciers shape our landscapes and way of life, the changes we’re witnessing are both dramatic and urgent. Glaciers are telling us a story—it’s time we listen.
