Born and raised in North Vancouver, BC, Kevin has spent more than 35 years immersed in the action sports community. One of the early generations of snowboarders at Mount Seymour and Whistler, he and his friends were some of the first to start exploring beyond the ski area boundaries and into the backcountry. Through films and photography, they documented these early adventures, helping capture the spirit of a growing snowboarding culture and put the Sea to Sky region on the global snowboard stage.
The mountains have always been Kevin's happy place. After a career in professional snowboarding that included an X Games gold medal, award-winning films, and founding the Sandbox brand, he has found a new way to stay connected and share the places he loves—as a backcountry snowboard guide.
Kevin now splits his time between winters in Whistler and summers in Tofino, continuing to learn from the landscapes and communities that surround him. With a growing appreciation for the natural environment and the challenges posed by climate change, he is excited to join POW to learn more and understanding how we can better care for these beautiful places and help preserve them for future generations.
