Why This Partnership Matters
Since 2019, Salomon has been a key partner in fueling POW Canada’s advocacy, fundraising, and community-building efforts. Their support goes beyond gear—they help grow the movement by engaging their community, amplifying our message, and advocating for climate action. From backing fundraisers like the Garage Sale to joining us in Ottawa for our Sustainable Transit lobby trip and pushing for policy change, they prove that brands have a powerful role in creating impact.
But they don’t just talk the talk—Salomon takes bold steps in their own sustainability efforts, rethinking materials, production, and circularity to reduce their footprint. By driving change both within their business and in the outdoor industry, they’re showing that protecting our playgrounds takes action at every level.
What we like about Salomon
- Did you know that Salomon launched a Foundation in 1999 with the mission to support groups who transform lives through mountain sports? Rooted in the belief that time spent outdoors helps us become the best version of ourselves, the Salomon Foundation partners with organizations that make outdoor sports accessible to disadvantaged or excluded communities. The Foundation funds non-profits committed to long-term partnerships that expand access to the outdoors. It also provides financial support to outdoor sports professionals and their families in the event of an accident, ensuring that those who dedicate their lives to the mountains receive the care and assistance they need.
- It’s pretty amazing to think that your worn-out running shoes don’t have to end up in a landfill—Salomon has made it possible to recycle them! With the launch of the INDEX.01 in 2021, the first fully recyclable running shoe, Salomon reduced CO₂ emissions by 44% and has continued innovating with the INDEX.02 and INDEX.03, making them even lighter, more durable, and more comfortable. Now, Salomon is bringing this technology to the trails with the VISION, a high-performance trail running shoe featuring a fully recyclable sole. It’s a game-changer for both runners and the planet!
What we’ve accomplished together
Sustainable Transit Campaign, Advocacy
In 2023, our Sustainable Transit Campaign took a center stage, culminating in a powerful lobby trip to Ottawa. Following a three-phase approach, we started by educating our community on the importance of sustainable transit, then gathered momentum with a survey that collected over 2,000 signatures. The final phase saw us travel to Parliament using public transportation, demonstrating firsthand the power of collective action. POW Canada, alongside a team of athletes, scientists, and partners, presented a national transportation strategy aimed at making outdoor recreation more accessible for all Canadians.
Salomon was right there with us, joining our lobby trip, signing our open letter, and continuing the advocacy work in their Ontario ridings the following year. This kind of ongoing partner support is crucial—it not only builds credibility but also helps amplify our message and drive real impact. The response from MPs was overwhelmingly positive, with many encouraging us to keep pushing for change. With partners like Salomon standing alongside us, we’re making sure the fight for sustainable transit stays in motion!
Salomon QST TOUR, Community Building & Fundraising
Since 2022, Salomon’s QST Film Tour has partnered with POW Canada to raise awareness, recruit Team POW members, and generate funds for climate action. This year, our partnership came to life in multiple ways throughout the tour, which spanned the United States and Canada, with key stops in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. POW Alliance members and Salomon athletes Stan Rey and Alex Godbout took the stage to present their film, Fortune Hunters. At each event in Canada, our volunteer chapters were on the ground, actively engaging with attendees — introducing them to POW Canada, answering questions, and encouraging them to join the movement. This collaboration helped us connect with a passionate outdoor audience, bringing more people into the fight to protect the places we love.

4 years of Garage Sale, Fundraising
Every year, the Garage Sale brings together 10+ of your favorite athletes and their incredible sponsors to raffle off next-level gear packages, with all proceeds fueling POW Canada’s fight for a livable future. Since day one, Salomon has stepped up in a big way, helping us take this campaign to the next level. This year, Salomon teamed up with legendary skier and POW Alliance Member Mike Douglas to offer an exclusive pair of skis and boots, making this year’s Garage Sale even more exciting.
With Salomon’s support—and the backing of our other amazing partners—this campaign helps us raise around $15,000 each year to power the movement. | ![]() |
