Kyara Simoes holds a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and is currently pursuing a PhD in the Sport Ecology Lab within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto. Her research explores the intersection of climate risk and sport and recreation, with a focus on how environmental change is reshaping the ways communities safely engage in outdoor movement and play. Outside of her academic work, Kyara enjoys a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, running, and her personal favourite, walking her dog!
